Gives a good overview of beautiful Salzburg and its environs, good commentary and comfortable minibus. The optional afternoon tea is worth it for the view alone.

Sounds outdoorsy? -wrong.The only experience of the Vienna Woods is through the bus window, on your way to a shrine (Mayerling), an abbey (why?) and a flooded disused mine (the grotto- a bit eerie but interesting). Not what we expected from the description.

Quite a lot of walking on a hot day, but a fascinating insight into the 19th and 20th century history of Vienna, as well as plenty of anecdotes about the film in many of its actual locations. And a surprise at the end of the tour.

The palace is more interesting than Versailles with a good audioguide of the rooms and the relevant history, dinner okay if you like boiled beef ( excellent strudel though) and the concert was lively and good fun.

Great scenery even though it was cloudy, pleasant boat trip, and a good-humoured and interesting tour guide in a comfortable VW minibus.
