Cinque Terre Hiking Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was the best of 6 tours we did while in Italy! The entire hike was extraordinarily breathtaking. My husband and I are both in good shape and are avid exercisers. With that said, I think that those who aren't at least averagely fit or in decent shape should think about what the temperatures will be like and if they can handle a few miles of hiking. There is an option to ride the train across a couple cities in order to avoid the hike.
We had amazing tour guides--cannot remember their names but they were brothers from Seattle, WA. They were so kind, helpful, and could tell they love what they do everyday.
Again, this is a hike I would do again. In one of the last cities we took a swim in the gorgeous water. When I think of my trip to Italy this is the best tour we took and I will forever remember the beauty!

Chianti Region Wine-Tasting and Dinner Half-Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating

My Review

Wow, what an awesome tour! My husband and I adored this trip--almost wish we could have done it more than once if it could have been duplicated at another winery.

The winery was great. The most gorgeous scenery and fabulous tour guide. The winery employee was informative and fun; she also didn't pressure us to buy. No worries, we got the information to buy plenty of their wine here at home in the US.
This is a tour I would highly recommend to anyone. The views were outstanding, the wine was GREAT, they were very generous with the snacks (I was full after the awesome wine/cheese/bread/dips).
We met some great people on this tour where there were about 20 of us. It was very personal--not too small of a group but not big. The friends we met on this tour are folks we continued to see/do things with while in Italy, and we are still in touch now that we're back at home.
Would recommend if you enjoy beautiful Tuscany scenes, great wine, friendly tour guides, and a great dinner at the end of the night. Bravo!

Skip The Line: Best of Florence Walking Tour including Accademia Gallery and Duomo

Florence, Italy

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

This was a pretty good tour. It wasn't my favorite of the trip but it was good enough so that we were able to get some good education and information about Florence. It rained during our tour which interfered. No complaints, however. It cooled everything off so it was welcomed. I was impressed by the statue of David but felt we spent too much time there since we couldn't get into the Duomo. Maybe I am a little ADHD but I was getting very bored. We stared at the statue for at least 45 minutes.
Also wasn't a big fan of the gelato shop they brought us to. Not the best gelato, and this happens to be an area where I am not very picky.
Recommending this trip on days where Duomo is open (so don't book it for Sunday.)

Ancient Rome Half-Day Walking Tour

Rome, Italy

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Let me begin by saying this tour was HOT! We did this walking tour during the afternoon in the middle of August..during a HEAT wave across Italy. The tour guide handled it well by bringing us in the shade each time we were breaking to discuss our surroundings. She was incredibly intelligent and informed. I believe she mentioned she was an archeologist.
The tour is great and shows you all of the "ruins" and history of Rome that you learn in school. It was neat to piece it all together. I will warn anyone who doesn't like to walk all over the city and in the heat of summer--it is hot this time of year so try to book this for a morning tour if you feel this may be an issue.
The gelato stop at the Trevi Fountain was AWESOME! One of the best places we had gelato while there, and we had a lot of gelato!
Overall, I give this tour 4 stars. It was a great tour, especially if you love history. But for me the heat and swollen feet are sabotaging my memories.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's

My Review

This tour was nice. Our tour guide was incredibly smart and well informed. The Vatican was incredible; this tour is a must if you are going to visit the Vatican purely based on the ability to skip the line. It was SO hot while we were there so at times I was getting lethargic with temps at 100F. I give this 4 stars and not 5 only because our guide didn't pay close enough attention to the time and didn't end until 12:35 (was supposed to finish at 12). We had to leave before completion to ensure we made our next tour at 2. Overall, I would recommend this tour. If we were to go again I promise it will be during a cooler month!
