Private Tour: Alexandria Day Trip from Cairo

My Review: Overall this tour was very good. The guide was personable and had a good command of English. The three hour drive returning to Cairo was more like four plus hours due to traffic. Time in Alexandria was limited because of the drive time, but I would have hated being in Egypt without a visit to Alexandria.

Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Oxford Day Trip

My Review: This tour was a great way to see and gain an appreciation for several sites in a limited amount of time. A full day could have been spent at either Windsor or Oxford. The guide was knowledgeable without being too wordy. Windsor was especially good as the guide gave us a good orientation and then left us to wander as we wished within the time available. Between Windsor and Stonehenge we stopped for lunch at what I would describe as a very nice road house pub. The lunch was very good, while I thought a bit expensive. Stonehenge time was short but adequate to see and appreciate and our guide brought it to life. At Oxford we got a basic walking tour of the town and past the gates of several colleges for a peek in before a welcome stop for tea and scones. We would have rather spent the tea time in one of the colleges, but they seemed to be closed to visitors, no fault of the tour. This tour has a lot of bus time, but the distances involved make that a necessity. All in all we highly recommend this tour.

My Review: This tour was truly exceptional. The guide was very knowledgeable, especially concerning the history of the area and the religions involved. The tour added a historical carpet museum that was not on the list of places to be visited that was very interesting. Of course, there was the obligatory visit to the guide's favorite jewelry and carpet shop, but that was accomplished in a very low key manner. Pickup at the port and drop-off at our hotel after the tour for us and all our baggage was effortlessly accomplished. This tour was much cheaper and a much smaller group than one offered by the cruise line.

My Review: This tour was very good. While waiting for members of our party to arrive, the guide was exceptionally helpful to several travelers who were in need of detailed information concerning travel around Istanbul. We had a short tour of the area before arriving at the night club, which was well done. The Turkish dinner and show were great, the only thing that would have enhanced the experience was if the hosts had taken the time to describe what we were eating. The belly dancers were awesome. This tour was much cheaper that one offered by the cruise line.
