Granada Flamenco Show in Sacromonte and Walking Tour of Albaicin

Granada, Spain

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

The flamenco show itself was good and I would recommend seeing it, but I would not recommend this overpriced version. The bus was late picking us up, the guide spoke no English and jumped off he bus leaving us with the driver without saying anything to us. The driver crazily drove us through the area (expected this part) and then stopped and motioned for us to get Ou, pointed down the road and drove off. We were sat in the overcrowded cave for the show but the tables were at the very back of he cave-worst seats in the house and the most expensive. The meal was okay but not worth the cost. A different guide met us after the show. He was good for the walking tour afterward but we felt so shuffled around by then and had already seen much of it that it didn't save the evening. Overall-see the show, get your own tickets and save tons of money.

Fantastic tour! Our guide was great and the driver was also helpful to fill in English as needed. We got more history from this tour than I expected and I thoroughly enjoyed free time on the beach. Would recommend.

Granada Cooking Class: How to Make Paella

Granada, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Javier was fantastic! This tour didn't last as long as we thought it would but that didn't take away from it one bit. This ended up being a private cooking class with just the two of us and the chef, Javier. It was held at his cooking school and we had a hands-on cooking experience making paella. Very well prepared and organized. He even had a flan dessert prepared for our meal and offered us sangria with our meal. I am so excited to go home and make this traditional dish myself. Highly recommend!!

Spanish Wine Tour from Madrid

Madrid, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Great tour! The wineries were all very different but all very good. All offered wines for purchase that were very affordable but there was also no pressure to buy anything. Our group had about 16 people or so but it didn't feel too big-would definitely recommend

Toledo Small-Group Tour from Madrid with Optional Wine Tasting

Madrid, Spain

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This was a great tour. The history of Toledo was great, the tour guide was knowledgable and informative, and the winery was absolutely fantastic. There was no pressure to buy anything so it was not like many tours we have been on previously where the tour guides get kickbacks from the shops. Would definitely recommend. Jorge at the winery was also fantastic and responsive to a problem with me being overcharged on my purchase after the tour was over. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the optional "gastronomic lunch" was just a typical tourist lunch with more than a hundred tourists in the restaurant with the same dish. I would definitely do this again but would opt to find my own lunch. Highly recommend!

Roman Gladiator School: Learn How to Become a Gladiator

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
When the taxi first dropped us off, it was a little difficult to find the school, so I would recommend more clear markings for the school, especially since we arrived to an ally in the rain on a darker cloudy day with a bum living in the ally. That being said, once we arrived at the school, our experience was amazing! The instructor was extremely knowledgeable, even when unknowingly 'tested' by my husband who is a passionate study of Roman and military history--he even learned something! The instructor was happy to answer any questions in the museum area, but when we moved into the teaching of gladiator fighting, he made the entire experience unforgettable, he was fabulous. The gladiator training experience was amazing and really made our trip to Rome extra special. I would highly recommend it, just make sure to get a taxi to the school and don't be too fearful of the ally, it will be worth it! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
