Nappa Valley Wine Train

My Recommendation Tip:
The Wine Train travels along a 25 mile length of track from Nappa to Sarrisota, through the beautiful wine region of California. Whilst on the train you can have Lunch or Dinner in one of the beautifully restored 1940's / 1950's carriages. The food is excellent and the choice of wines are classic. It is not expensive - I paid $99 + tax for lunch and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this tour. Very well organised. Voted one of the 10 best train rides in the world!

Las Vegas Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride

My Review: I am so pleased I decided to do this - It was well organised and very safe. Paul our pilot picked me up at 5.15am! We were taken to a Starbucks near the take off site - after the necessary safety tests with helium balloons we were give the go ahead. We were taken to the take off site and helped unload the balloon - The safety briefing was through and the pilot was very professional. We took off and floated over a local neighbourhood - with the strip as a backdrop. A really enjoyable flight experience for almost an hour. Smooth landing and Champagne! The whole thing took about 4 hours, but was a great experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The balloon baskets can take up to 8 guests. Don't wear your best clothes! Dresses don't work!

Ultimate Hoover Dam Tour

My Review: I was picked up from the hotel at 7.30am by the "Dam Bus"! When all were on board, I then found out that instead of the tour just being to the Hoover Dam and inside the Dam, it also included lunch at the Bolder Hotel and a visit to Ethel M's chocolate factory. Having done the internal tour of the hoover Dam pre 9/11, I was a little disappointed with the revised tour, spending less than 10 minutes inside the Dam. The tour guide at the dam was over bearing and spoke more about himself than the dam. The actual tour of the Dam took less than an hour - we then went to lunch at Bolder Hotel, which was reasonable - but nothing special. A big thing was made of looking at the bat houses of the dam workers - we drove down a road and saw modernised versions, but none of the original, which are historical monuments, we were driven by Wayne Winton's house, with a sarcastic commentary! We were then take to Ethel M's Chocolate Factory, which was a total waste of time, in one door - walk past some windows looking into an empty factory, a taste of the chocolate which was nice, but very expensive to buy. Sadly I was disappointed with this tour over all. That and the fact that we had a blow out on the highway and had to sit on the bud for 45minutes, while the true was changed. No up to the normal standard. Too much to pump out a morning or afternoon visit to a historical monument.
