My Review

We enjoyed our recent tour to Montmorency Falls and Saint Anne de Beaupre. The Falls were spectacular and Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré was breath taking. The only drawback to this tour was that we wish that we had more time to spend in these two highlight locations and less (or better yet, no) time at the Copper Museum, chocolaterie, Chez Marie's bread oven.

Wicklow Day Trip from Dublin

My Review
We highly recommend this full day trip to the County Wicklow, the seaside town of Bray, Powerscourt and Glendalough. Our guide was well versed in the history of all the places that we visited. He commented on local lore and always allowed ample time to view the sights on the tour. The gardens of Powerscourt and the estate itself are amazing. Bray was picturesque and the walk up to the lakes at Glendalough were icing on the cake. If time permits in your visit to Dublin, place this tour on your must do list.

Cork and Blarney Castle Rail Trip from Dublin

My Review
This tour was fantastic. Our guide was outstanding. He was well versed in the history of Cork, Blarney Castle and Cobh (f/k/a Queenstown). We had ample time to visit the sights, take pictures and refreshments. The tour is long - about 12 to 14 hours (approximately 3 hours each way are spent on the train between Dublin and Cork). Our visit to Blarney Castle was perfectly timed as we arrived before several larger groups. Our guide shared several entertaining stories about each of the sights. He was also unflappable when Irish Rail service threw a curve ball at him by unexpectedly diverting the train we were on to a different station. He took great care of the members of the group and made sure that all were directed to the appropriate destinations. We highly recommend this trip!

Skip this tour. This tour was a mess from the start. The meeting place is a pub. We, along with 3 others, stood outside the pub, as that seemed the most logical place for the tour guide to meet the group. A relatively scruffy gentleman approached one of the members of the group and asked her what she was doing. She said she was waiting for a tour group to start. The gentleman said maybe you want to wait inside. She said no. Never once did the guide state that he was the guide for our tour. After waiting nearly an hour and several phone calls to the office later, a different guide finally took us on the tour. The stories the guide told were often so out of historical context that they cast disbelief over most any story he told. Save your money and skip this trip.

Loire Valley Castles Day Trip: Chambord, Cheverny and Chenonceau

The Loire Valley tour was outstanding. By far our favorite of the three palaces on the tour was Chambord, but Chenonceau was a strong runner up. Our guide was very good but had some trouble with the electronic headphone microphone system. There was ample time given at each palace to take pictures and browse the gift shops or get some refreshments. We would definitely recommend this tour.
