Departure point was hard to find as we received the wrong information from the tourist office. Construction work in the city meant even the info on our voucher was not correct. Our driver , Salem, was very nice, and our tour guide, Thomas, made all the history so interesting. He was a fountain of knowledge and delivered his info so clearly. What a nice man ! Despite the rain and a rather rushed lunch stop, we made it in time to see the changing of the guard at Fredensborg Palace. Frederiksborg Castle was beautiful.
Interesting tour of the cheese factory and clog workshop. Volendam and Marken interesting places, Unfortunately heavy rain prevented a proper look at the Zaanse Schans Windmills. It was great to see the Dutch countryside.
Excellent ! What an amazing display of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils in such picturesque gardens. We were blessed with perfect weather and due to late blooming we saw the flowers at their peak. Tour guide was good and he made sure everyone knew the time and the place to rejoin the bus . We were glad we had booked the 9am tour as the gardens became busier as the day wore on. Can't wait to see our photos !
