New York City, New York
These tours are the ideal way to see Uptown, Downtown and depending on which you buy, a Brooklyn and night tour also. You can get off and on when and wherever you like around the city and if you are lucky you get a fabulous guide with a wealth of stories and information. We bought the 72 Hour hop-on-hop-off tickets for the red bus tours and on arrival upgraded to the VIP (another $25pp). This allowed you to jump the queues and use the blue buses too. In theory this is ideal but we ran into problems a couple of times with one blue bus guide not appearing to know we were valid for their tours too and another a bit reluctant to let us on asking if we 'didn't prefer to wait for a red one'. There was also a bit of aggression from a fellow passenger who thought we were queue jumping as there was no guide at one of the stops to co-ordinate the queues. The blue buses were cleaner and far nicer but the red ones were pretty dirty and shabby. A great way to see the sights though and reasonably good value in such an expensive tourist hot spot!
New York City, New York
Good value for money IF you have plenty of time in the city. We were there for 3 days so didn't use a lot of the vouchers as some of the museums closed around 5-6pm the days we were there and the queues even just to redeem your ticket for the Statue of Liberty Ferry and Tour were so horrendous we didn't bother (we used the free Staten Island Ferry Instead). The Top of the Rock Observation Deck is far better than the Empire State as it isn't so crowded and the views are clearer and unrestricted.
Washington D.C., District of Columbia
We were on limited time in Washington DC and wanted to see as much as possible, so this was a fantastic tour. Our Guide Ralph was a great personality and had fantastic knowledge to share. The tour takes in all the main tourist attractions (National Mall, Capitol Hill, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials to name just a few) and you see 100's of more sights along the way. The trip includes a 1 hour river boat ride on the Potomac River which was an added treat and you see everything from a different aspect including Watergate and the Pentagon. You can add lunch for a very reasonable price ($10) and it is delivered to the bus just before you get on the boat and bottles of water are supplied FOC throughout the trip. Excellent value for money and highly recommended
