This tour is one of the few ways to get into Luxembourg without a car; however it is a good 3 hour drive to get there. I didn’t learn much from the guide, as he rattled something in English then the same thing in French then in Italian. Because of the wait to hear the next thing in English, it became boring. Free time in Luxembourg is also lunchtime and works better if you are traveling with someone (I jointed a couple in our group for a pizza). The memorial at Bastogne was nice but the tour guide didn’t tell us anything about it so it’s best to read up on what you are going to see first. The worst part of this tour are the hotel drop-offs in the evening; it took 45 minutes to drive around and drop everyone off; I had checked in at the tour agency so I was the last to get dropped off. I would recommend this tour for couples who don’t mind sitting on a bus for 3 hours but not if you're by yourself.
My expectation was that we would meet up with some walking guide and he'd tell us a funny story and then would dump us off in a loud bar that advertises 'live music tonight'.The realization was a quiet upper floor of a noisy bar with 2 musicians who were very passionate about their life's work, telling stories about the folk songs and the rhythm of the tunes. They played and played and then walked us to the next 2 bars, also to a quiet upper floor, to tell stories and sing and play various instruments. It wasn't exactly a party atmosphere but it was enchanting Irish music. I really liked it, especially when the guy sharing a table with us, got up and sang at the end of the evening (well, they asked if anyone was so inclined).
