Terrible - is just people herding all day for very small amounts of wine. The price is one of the cheaper but it was so bad I would have preferred not to go at all and use this day of holiday in another way. Did another winery tour, though more expensive was worth every penny.
Fantastic trip, it is pricey but is definitely worth it. Lovely in small groups with a great lunch. The trip is small enough so that you get to know eachother as well as the chance to talk with the guide. Biking through the vineyards is such a great experience and really makes you feel like you've earnt your wine and got the most out of the day. The ride ended up being longer than advertised, I think our trip meter said 26km but I'm not very fit and haven't ridden in ages and it was ok, only 1 big hill.
The only negative is that you hire the bike in Bordeaux then need to fit it on the train to go out to st emillion. I think that if there is no way of storing bikes out at st emillion they should invest in a trailer and drive with the bikes out there as I know they already have a shuttle bus. The day does end up being very very long and with our train delayed on the way there then we thought it wasn't coming on the way back (though turned up unexpectedly - others had been at the station for over an hour) this seems like a risky way to run the trip.
