If you are wanting to see the Louvre, definitely book a guided tour. You learn so much more that you would not ordinarily know if you went alone. You also go straight through the entrances, no trouble! Our guide Monique was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Just watch your bag at every second! I was very careful about my bag during my whole trip but my pocket camera and smartphone were stolen outside the louvre anyway! a complete shock that left me wondering how and when! They are experts, often work in groups to tag. observe and distract you. A great shame but a wonderful tour nevertheless.

This is the best tour ever! I would have to say our guide had little input, basically just drove us to the places we needed to be and gave us some pre-information in the bus. But having your own independent time was obviously the point and that was fine. These places are fabulous and the lunch millhouse venue was superb. Very picturesque setting and the meals were nicely presented - generous portions of both food and wine. You not only see an extraordinary palace, monet gardens and a lovely mill house... the drive through the french country side is wonderful between these places! ONE TIP! Wear completely flat shoes to the palace as there is cobblestone paving outside everywhere! Expect crowds, but thats usual!

Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour

My Review

Unfortuanely id have to say for my own personal gain, this tour was disappointing. Our guide Marie-Cecile was lovely, but spent more time telling us about street architecture than the chefs, processes or background about the shops we visited. We dashed in and out of 5 shops, most of them chocolate with only one cake shop. Im a complete foodie and run a small cake business myself in Australia. Some information bout the shops and their products were given, and some lovely samples were given... but certainly the complete majority of the tour focused on the housing and architecture along the way. It was interesting to learn about doorways and windows, gardens and trees, but i wanted to hear about cakes, chefs, techniques, etc. Sorry but isnt this called a chocolate and pastry tour?? The best shop was Gerard Merlot full of amazing cakes and savouries. But learnt nothing about him, his background or his shop. Disappointing tour really. However... if you are looking for a cake hit of amazing magnitude and pure bliss...have a high tea in "Le Galerie" Lounge of George V hotel. THAT was pure heaven!!!
