They arrived exactly when they said they would arrive and we were pleased about that. We had never used a shuttle service before and due to the efficiency of this trip would use one in the future. It was very affordable and glad it proved to be a positive experience.

Steamboat Natchez Harbor Cruise

New Orleans, Louisiana

My Rating

My Review

We enjoyed the harbor cruise even though the day we took the cruise, the boat was filled with a fourth grade class of many, many students. We did the lunch cruise and enjoyed the food. We wanted to get our food towards the beginning of the trip and because of the high volume of students, it took a little time to get our food but we were able to find a place to sit out on the deck and it all worked out fine. We had a hard time hearing some of the narrative but it did not spoil our trip. We felt the trip was well worth the price and loved knowing we had just gone down the renown Mississippi River.

Small-Group Tour of Oak Alley and Laura Plantation from New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This was an excellent tour. We were picked up at our hotel exactly when we were told. The guide, Diane, was extremely knowledgable and put forth so much effort to be sure her guests were informed and happy. The tour bus was completely filled with 13 of us and I think it might have been better to have a couple less people instead of three people to every seat but it was doable. We had lunch at Laura's plantation and the authenticy of eating a creole lunch added a lot of charm to the tour. We visited the Oak Alley Plantation as well and was equally enjoyable. The history if you want to learn about the area is very interesting and were very pleased with the tour.

Small-Group Swamp Boat Tour of Cajun Country from New Orleans

New Orleans, Louisiana

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This was an extraordinary tour for many reasons. Our tour guide was concerned about our safety on the swamp because it had been raining, thundering and lightening and he did not want to take us out into the swamp until it was safe. We waited about 15 min and then we took off. It was over cast but there was a roof over us so we did not get wet and we were all given a towel to ensure we stayed drived. We saw a couple of alligators and Captain Torres (I believe was his name) shared his life of living on the Bayou and in the swamps his entire life. You don't realize how different a life style could be but he shared how he lived and he loved his childhood. It's not a long ride, but he is narrating the entire time so you can understand everything you see and how dangerous it could be if you were out in the swamps by yourself. I was fascinated with the histroy of the Bayou and his life living on the Bayou. I wish it had been sunny as it might have looked more like this picture but the over cast day did not deter me from thoroughly enjoying this tour.

New Orleans City Sightseeing and Hurricane Katrina Small-Group Tour

New Orleans, Louisiana

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This was our first tour after arriving in New Orleans and we always like to get familiar with our surroundings. Joseph was our guide and he picked us up exactly when he said we would be picked up. The van was not full and there was only five people but it was nice not being packed in the van. Joseph is a native of New Orleans and his knowledge and delivery of so much history was so enjoyable. I would recommend this tour as a beginning tour so you can see the past, the present, the cemeteries, and our trip down St Charles Street where they have the Mardi Gras events was a highlight. We stopped in the middle of the tour to have some coffee and bignets at a park where they also had clean restrooms. We were there for 15 min and was a nice little break to relax before finishing the tour. It is a tour filled with New Orleans history and that it what we enjoy when vacationing to unknown cities.

Shared Arrival Transfer: New Orleans Airport to Hotel or Cruise Port

New Orleans, Louisiana

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

I called the day before we arrived as was suggested on the tour voucher. We were told to go to baggage claim 6. We did that when we arrived and there was no one there. We walked outside of the terminal and saw a lot of airport shuttles and showed them our voucher and they took us inside and told us to see the lady at the shuttle counter. We had round trip tickets and once we spoke to someone, we got our suttle tickets and we were on our way. When I called the day before, they should have told me to go the Shuttle Counter and we would be given tickets to board the shuttle. Going to baggage claim 6 takes you no where as it was empty and no one was there. I was expecting a person to be standing there with my last name and that is not how it is done. This was our first time reserving a shuttle prior to arriving at our destination. It took very little time getting our tickets to board the shuttle but when calling in advance, they should provide more detailed information on how to get your shuttle ticket.

This was one of my favorite tours on our trip to NY. The weather was very cold but seeing the famous Wall Street, Financial District and listening to our very knowledgeable guide was a wonderful experience. The Reflection Pools were beautiful because of what they represented. I am glad we took this tour.

Top of the Rock Observation Deck, New York

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

We went to the Top of the Rock around 10:00 am to be one of the first tours but was told the weather was poor and we would not be able to see anything until around 4:00 pm same day. We appreciated the advise and came back around 3:30 and could see everything. It was a beautiful site to behold to see everything and the Empire State Building was across the way and looked like you could almost touch it. There were no lines and very easy to come up and come down at your own pace. Great tour and recommend to anyone.
