This tour is worth it just for the entry into the Last Supper, without everything else! Just a note though, we booked this for the Sunday morning and apparently tour groups are not allowed into the cathedral on Sundays; however, we were taken to the castle, which wasn't on the itinerary and so we assumed that this was done instead of the cathedral visit part of the tour. In addition, the tour drops you off about 10 minutes walk from the cathedral at most, so it is easy to go back and look round on your own.
Our guide was Laura and she made the tour very interesting, particularly at the Last Supper. I don't know very much about art and it was really helpful to have someone explaining the history of the painting and some of the rumours about it too. There was also time to look around the church next door.
The tour also included a visit to La Scala and it was a really enjoyable morning - a good introduction to some of the main sights in Milan and also helped us to see how close things were to each other, so we spent most of the rest of the holiday on foot!
This is a really nice tour - we arrived on Saturday lunchtime so it was a good start to the holiday. Our guide was Valerie and she was lovely, very friendly and knowledgeable. The views from the top of the Duomo were great and it was interesting to see the roof and the spires in more detail, up close.
I would definitely recommend this tour, particularly if you enjoy city views and like taking photos!
I would definitely recommend this tour - it is an early start but well worth it to miss the queues and to have the expertise of a guide to talk you through the museums. Our guide was Alessandro and he was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable - he gave a good introduction to the Sistine Chapel before starting the tour, which really helped once you were in there as you knew something about at least one or two parts, which made it much more enjoyable.
This was an excellent day tour, with a really friendly guide, Lara who answered any questions and was very knowledgeable about both places. Villa d'Este is a beautiful place and it was lovely to wander through - very relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Rome itself!! Hadrian's Villa was also an amazing place to see and although Lara gave us the option to go around by ourselves, I would recommend staying with your guide so that everything is explained to you, in terms of what the buildings were and what they were used for - I personally found that it made the excursion much more interesting.
I would definitely recommend this tour if you're staying in Rome for a few days and have the time to do it.
