Siem Reap, Cambodia
My guide, Sear, picked me up from my hotel at 0830. From there he took me to the Angkor Wat temple complex. The pace of the tour was great. Sear is certainly very knowledgeable of the history, not just of the temples but also the history of the country. A must do/see in Siem Reap.
The sites along the tour is spectacular. The tour itself is ok. Part of my issue is the number of people in my group as well as the the spacing of the other groups. Sometimes I cannot hear what my tour guide is saying because the group behind us is literally on top of us. Would I do it again? Hmmmm - probably not. Will I recommend this tour? Hmmm - maybe - but only on a rainy day when there is nothing else to do!!
This tour is certainly not for everyone. It is highly controversial and your senses are going to get hit from many different directions. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It is well organized and the knowledge level of our guide is phenomenal.
The your begins with the bus ride from Krakow to Auschwitz. A short documentary was shown on the ride. My only critique is the quality of the film. I realize this documentary was done a while back - but - it might be a good idea to maybe get better equipment in the bus or maybe even re-dub the short film. With current technology, I do not see why this cannot be done.
I highly highly recommend this tour. But be prepared for the emotions that will hit you!!
