What an extreme disappointment! Essentially, for the price of $100, my wife and I were given a 10-minute bus ride to a point relatively near the Vatican and a ten-minute walk to the square in front of St. Peter's Basilica. At that point, your guide had us wait over an hour for the Pope's arrival -- along with a hundred thousand others who made their own way to the square and obtained their free invitation from the Vatican. Does the term "rip-off" ring any bells?
We were very surprised to learn on arrival that we had paid for nothing more than a guaranteed time slot access to the Borghese Gallery. We thought we were purchasing both access and a guided tour. The fault may be ours for failing to read the details fully.
