Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
The meeting place was easy to find and although there were many people there, it was all well organised and started bang on time. The tour guide was wonderful. He was friendly, authoritative when needed, very knowledgable, organised, funny and entertaining. The tour itself was fabulous. The 'skip the line' aspect is well worth paying for believe me, as the queues seemed to disappear out of sight even at 8.20 in the morning. Having someone to explain what we were looking at was also invaluable and having the Sistine Chapel paintings fully explained prior to going in, meant that you get so much more out of it when you are in there. Be prepared for it to be VERY busy in there! St Peter's is truly awe inspiring and simply breathtaking too. All in all the only complaint I would have is aching sore feet (but I don't think I can blame anyone else for that)! It is very busy and crowded but the guide makes sure you are all kept together and you can hear perfectly at all times because of the radios you are given. It was well worth the money and I would definitely book this exact same tour if I return to Rome (which I sincerely hope I do)! Brilliant.
