The guide was excellent, and she did her best in unbelievably crowded conditions. The Vatican has become far too commercial, with no time or space to appreciate things. We will never visit it again.

A great trip, with excellent guides. The crowds in Pompeii, we surmise, have made it necessary to keep most of the tour to street level, with the famous houses no longer open to tourists, as they were years ago. Even so, there were plenty of interesting moments.
