Living in Beautiful Anchorage Alaska with my husband Terry. My life is awesome, I'm happy, joyous and free (at least for today!). Grew up in Deer Park NY on Long Island. In 1978 I moved to Tampa FL, got married in 1981 to an airman in the USAF, and immediately moved to Victorville CA. Son Thomas born 1984 in CA. Transferred to Frankfurt Germany in 1987 and daughter Jessica born in Weisbaden in Aug 87. Transferred to Keesler AFB MS in 1991, got divorced in 1996 and got sober in 1997 in Ocean Springs MS. Found a job with USFWS in Anchorage AK and moved there in October 1998. Met my current husband, Terry, on my first night in Anchorage at an alcoholics anonymous meeting! We were married on Aoril 1, 2000 (only I would pick April Fool's day to get married on LOL!). Added 2 stepsons to the mix, Nathan born in 1988 and Keegan born in 1990. In 2003 I went to work with the US Army Corps of Engineers and did 2 deployments in support of Hurricanes Jeanne and Katrina and learned that I LOVED deploying. Went to Kirkuk Iraq for 6 months in December of 2006 and Kabul Afghanistan for 11 months in December of 2007. I was selected for a temporary GS-9 position at Fort Richardson AK and started working there in Nov 2008. I got bored (again) and deployed with AMC to Camp Taji Iraq for 1 year in June of 2009. WE are both very active in Alcoholics Anonymous, we love to go fishing and camping, and also love to travel. Because of my many deployments, we have been able to travel to The Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls, Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada, a cruise to Grand Cayman and Jamaica, North Carolina (where we went to Dollywood!) up in the mountains, Georgia, Florida, Connecticut, Upstate New York and Rhode Island. Now with all the kids out of the house, we find ourselves sneaking off for weekend fishing/camping trips regularly! Life is good, I have absolutely nothing to complain about!
Very nice trip...driver and guide were excellent. Only complaint is that there was not hot water at the hotel.
