This trip was not very well thought out. It was great seeing the different terrain from desert to mountains to the ocean BUT....
We stopped at the Friday Market but were only given 20 min. to walk from one end to the other, there was no time to actually do any shopping. We stopped at the fish market but there was very little going on, people were cleaning up. We stopped by the Indian Ocean for lunch - we did not do the buffet, ordering from the menu was so slow that we only had 10 min. on the beach. We stopped at the oldest mosque but were there at the wrong time to so couldn't enter. We stopped at a Fort that was under construction so we couldn't go in.
We left our hotel before 9am and there was no bathroom available until we stopped at lunch at 1pm. After lunch there was no bathroom available at all. We did stop at a filthy garage that was closed to allow one lady that requested a stop.
The quide was more comfortable in German than English. Questions were asked and answered in German with no translation to English.

The guide was knowledgable and entertaining. Any questions that were asked were translated, as were the answers. Bathroom and lunch breaks were reasonable. We enjoyed the day. Even the bus trip seemed short.

For the most part, the stops were near the attractions. The commentary was good. The routes covered the city. The only problem we had was after the river cruise - which was great.. We were jammed in and had to stand for the 15 min. (which was only supposed to be 5 min) ride to the next stop. We couldn't use our head phones. The stop-start in traffic made the 15 min. miserable.

We enjoyed seeing the city. Our guide was more comfortable in German than English. He did not translate any questions asked in German and then carried on a conversation in German to answer the question - non of it was translated.
We were given alot of time to shop in the gold market and in ONE store in the spice market. A better guide would have made a world of difference.
