I would recommend the Full Day since you don't get to go inside the Cathedral of Toledo on the half day tour which was a real bummer for us.l Overall it was a quick but nice tour with tons of walking up and down narrow streets. The gift store at the end was OK and really could have been skipped in my opinion. The guide was nice, well informed and kept everyone moving along. Go all day if you have the time!!
FANTASTIC!! Loved the tour and the guide was one of the best we had in Spain. She was very nice, well informed and her english was perfect. She managed to go back and forth in a timely basis in both languages so no one missed any sights or information on the tour. The El Escorial Monastery was one of the highlights of the trip. The Crypt is incredible and worth seeing as is the Fallen. I also opted for the additional afternoon sightseeing tour and got the same guide again. Such good luck! It was a quick but compehensive tour of Madrid which gave me great ideas on what to see during my visit. We also were able to get off and take photos which was great. Our guide even gave us tips on what to do during the "Austerity Strike" which worked out wonderfully so I didn't lose a day of sightseeing. This tour was money well spent!! Go, you won't be dissappointed!!
We ended up getting a private tour which was incredible. Our guide Lydia was fantastic and very well informed. We got tons of private information on all the sights and dropped up right out front of both venues. She was one of the best guides on our trip to Spain! WONDERFUL!!
As for the sights, The Sagrada Familia was incredible, definitely the highlight of Barcelona. Do not miss this attraction. The Cathedral is unlike any other that we have visited across Europe. Gaudi was such a genius and it shows! Just breathtakingly beautiful and incredibly unbelievable construction! GO...GO...GO!! Do not miss this!!
Monserrat was great too, just too crowded on the weekends. Sunday was our only time so nothing we could do but fight the crowds. The line to see the Black Madona took hours and trying to get into the Basilica to hear the choir sing was suicidal. We did hear their heavenly voices from outside and if you stood on the Madona's second standing place outside the Basilica you could see her inside. So if you can't avoid the weekend, then avoid the lines and say a silent prayer from outside if it's too busy. I absolutely loved the outdoor merchants selling homemade honey, cheeses and candies! Overall a nice tour but avoid the weekends if possible!
