Stunning scenery! This was my third trip to the Grand Canyon but first by helicopter and this time, we got a unique view of the Grand Canyon with a touchdown stop within the canyon. Look below and you can see the Colorado River making its way through the canyon and look above and you can see the towering canyon walls.
The helicopter pilot was friendly, knowledgeable and did his best to make the trip fun. He engaged all of the passengers in conversation, even those who didn't speak much English.
The trip is costly but if this may be your sole opportunity to see the Grand Canyon, take the tour! Even the flight over with Lake Mead below you is scenic and sure beats sitting for hours on a bus.
It ended up being a private tour as we were the only two taking the tour that day. The guide, Dario, was friendly and knowledgeable, particularly about the history. His English was great and easily understandable. However, he needs to make sure that he doesn't rush his group from location to location and build in a bio-break at least once during the tour as the ride from Cadiz to Seville is long as is the walking tour.
Nicolaus, the guide, was great. Very passionate about Catalunya and proud of the history of the area and it showed in his presentations. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am admit to not being particularly keen on seeing the Sagrada Familia but bought the tour because I knew if I didn't, I'd miss what Barcelona is so well known for. I am glad I did because I was blown away with the interior. It is awe-inspiring.
The views were magnificent and the bus driver was excellent. We enjoyed the ride down the Bow Valley Parkway so much the first time on the bus that we did the drive ourselves the next day and again saw some bears and elk. Highly recommended
