Our tour guide on the bus was very helpful, giving us information about both locations and the area in general (and Firenze). She then transitioned us to a local tour guide in Siena who was great and I learned a lot of interesting facts about the Duomo (which is beautiful). We then had lunch and free time on our own. San Gimignano was fun to explore on our own; our tour guide actually pointed out a few things when we first got there since we were only a group of 5.
I was a single traveler and was hoping for a more interactive group, but the others on the tour were not English speaking, so I was essentially on my own for the day.
Great tour and great people in the small group. We toured 2 wineries with a traditional Tuscan lunch (lots of breads, cheese, meats, pasta) at the end of the first winery. Lunch included a tasting of several wines, but our tour guides kept reminding us to not drink them all to save room for the next place. We then went to a 2nd winery place and learned more about the wines and about olive oils. The tasting there included 3 wines and 3 cheeses. We learned a lot about wines from the region and had plenty of time to interact with others in the group.
Great activity! Would definitely recommend to others. We were at counters of 5-6 people and all helped make a 4-course Tuscan dinner. Our chef instructor was very helpful and we had a great time with both the other people in the class and our chef. We even learned how to properly flip a crepe and our chef gave us other cooking pointers as well. Fun, lively instructors and great food and wine and it was nice to take the recipes home. I am looking forward to having a dinner party at home to share my experience with friends.
