Tour was in English and German so took too long and was boring during German speaking parts. Would not have done this tour if I realized that's how it would be.
Don't feel like I learned much and we walked most of these places on our own the day before.
I read the Viator reviews before I purchased this tour which said long walk to Neuschwanstein. Reality is that it is a 1 mile walk at a very steep incline then 1 mile back down at a very steep incline. This tour should include transportation to the castle. It was a tough walk and we are active people. My daughter suffered a stress fracture in her foot from the walk down which ruined the rest of our vacation. For that reason alone I wish we had skipped this tour. The bus stopped in front of Hotel Muller which they recommended that we go to for lunch. It was awful-German cafeteria food. There were a lot of other places around that you should try. There is a restaurant on the walk up to the castle that we would have gone to if we knew it was there, it would have been a chance to break up the walk.
Neuschwanstein isn't really a castle, it's a residence built to replicate a medeival castle. It is from the late 1800s.
Linderhof was beautiful. It was a building that was a work of art. The surrounding grounds were magnificent as well.
This tour was very interesting and informative. Our tour guide was very knowledgable about Dachau and the other concentration camps. We learned a lot. It was much better to take this tour than to go there on your own.
