Cinque Terre Hiking Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

A lovely but tiring day. The guides, Alex and Angel were excellent, taking care of all guests and ensuring that everyone knew what was happening and where to be at what time. They gave details and points of contact in the event of anyone being delayed or the getting lost. The day allowed for the varied pace of walking and nothing was too strenuous for reasonably active people. The local lunch (provided) was lovely. I would recommend this trip.

Skip the Line: Florence Accademia and Uffizi Gallery Tour

Florence, Italy

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

The Accademia tour to see David was well worth the money. Lots of interesting information from the local guide and so much time to admire the wonderful statue.
The Uffizi tour was informative but I would be more cautious about recommending this tour as it was long and hot in the galleries and unfortunately timed so that the delightful looking café was closed by the end of the tour.
In both instances there was still time spent queuing before being allowed to enter the gallery. Also in both instances, the headphone systems were inadequate and most people could be observed pressing the earphones into their ears in an effort to increase the volume.

Siena and San Gimignano Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

This tour was somewhat spoiled by the very poor guide. Her articulation of the English language was somewhat limited and was difficult to 'catch' what she said. therefore most of the day was spent checking with fellow travellers what the arrangements were and what time we had to meet and where. At no time did she offer contingency for contacting her should anyone get lost or be taken ill. The local lunch was adequate but finding a place to eat in the central Sienna area would have bean easy and probably preferable. The local Sienna guide was excellent, providing an interesting insight into the city and its history.
San Gimignano was a lovely town to wander around.
The trip to the wine tasting was unnecessary. More time in Sienna or San Gimigano would have been preferable.
