Montserrat Royal Basilica Half-Day Trip from Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Montserrat is a beautiful place to see. The Basilica is amazing and you have the opportunity to get up close to the Black Madonna. The view is breathtaking from up there. Also don't miss the opportunity to ascend the mountain with the cog wheel train!
The morning tour gives you the opportunity to hear the Boys choir who sings for approximately 10 minutes at about 1pm. You also get some free time to walk around and explore on your own and get to sample liqueur in the store. A must when visiting Monserrat is to try some of their famous cheese and honey. I gave this tour a 4 rather than a 5 because our tour guide Oriol could have been more approachable and friendly.

My Review

This tour is a must for all first time Barcelona visitors. It was very comprehensive, detailed and enjoyable. Our guide Fabian was great, his knowledge of Barcelona's history is impressive. He was super friendly and approachable and we felt comfortable with him and his english was excellent. I would recommend the full day tour which took us to places like Parc Guell, Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Jewish quarters, Barri Gotic, MontJuic, Passeig De Gracia and much more. Please note the full day tour ends at La Pedrera so you have to make your way home from there. Overall we learnt a great deal of Catalunya's history from an amazing guide.

FC Barcelona Football Stadium Tour and Museum Tickets

My Review

A must see for all FC Barcelona fans. We got to visit the Museum with all the History, trophies, photos and stats etc throughout the years including all four of Messi's Ballon D'or trophies and golden boots. The highlight was entering the stadium itself, we were awe struck at its magnificence and size. Walking through the tunnel where the players enter the field was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Don't miss the opportunity to take a photo of the Champions League trophy in the Press room and walk through the visiting team's locker room.
