First rate from start to finish. Regis was a super guide - informative, engaging and professional. I was there with my 14 year old son and we spent the day with Regis and 4 other travellers visiting a number of sites in and around the WWI battlefields, travelling around in a luxury people carrier. As the day unfolded we all got to know each other and the questions and conversations around the tour and our various interests developed. I found the site visits emotional and sobering at times and undoubtedly thought-provoking. We went for a late but delicious lunch in a local bar prior to our last tour stop before heading back to Paris. This tour was a perfect mix of history, scenery, sightseeing and interaction with our guide, Regis, and our fellow travellers. Out of a 10 day holiday in Paris and the South of France with many highlights my 14 year old declared it the best day.
We followed the directions to meet with our guide to the letter but confusion on the part of our guide meant that it was sheer good luck that we eventually met up. That aside this was a great tour and fantastic value for money. We ended up with a different guide than the one we initially met and Charlie, who led us around underground for 2 and a half hours, was excellent. Professional, informative and with a wry sense of humour, Charlie enthralled us with the history, rumours, mysteries and anecdotes of the Catacombs. It is a relatively long time to be underground and visitors should be aware that there are no access to facilities during the tour. You can visit on a self-guided basis - and apparently it would take about 45 minutes to get around - but I would highly recommend doing this guided tour. There were numerous attempts from non-group members to 'join' us - all diplomatically dealt with by Charlie and his colleague - as they clearly were fascinated by the narrative we were enjoying. There was a long (hour and a half) wait in the queue to get in and a few very short parts of the walk are sloping and/or slippy but these are very minor negatives on what was a superb tour. Slightly macabre, but an opportunity to see a very different side to Paris - particularly if you have exhausted the more traditional tourist sights above-ground.

Great value! The boat guides were highly entertaining and informative (if not wholly factually correct - but then they didn't claim to be.) Cold journey on the way back as it was a different boat model and partly open to the elements.
