We had two issues with this tour. The tour itself may be fine. I cannot comment on that. We decided not to take it after encountering issues with the preliminary logistics. We had a train to catch and were concerned that we would not be back on time. The tour data at the site shows 4.5 hours, not 4 hours as stated in the Viator advertisement. OK, it says 4 hours (approx) but it did not leave anywhere near on time so it would have been more like 5 hours overall. The bigger issue though is that the Viator details indicate that their voucher is the ticket to the tour and this is not true. Viator is actually piggy backing off a standard tour available to all comers which can be purchased for less than the Viator price on the dock. I have no problem paying the small premium as obviously Viator has admin costs and having a prepaid ticket is convenient. However, after lining up with a huge crowd of people for 45 minutes and finally getting to the boat the tour guide indicated that we had to exchange the voucher for a different ticket at the dock. This meant we would have been the last people onto the boat which was already filled to capacity. This is not stated anywhere on the website instructions which I could see and to be last on the boat after a long wait due to a procedural issue is not reasonable.
Nice tour. Knowledgeable, friendly tour guide. Gives one a good idea of the various types of beer available and their history. The meal was more than adequate in pleasant surroundings. A great time for 3 hours. Good value for money. Recommended for anyone who likes beer.
