The castles were very interesting and greatly enjoyed. There is some hiking up hill and a lot of steps. No complaints except it was very busy with lots of tourist. We did the private tour which was well worth it. The guide knew all the "ins". And really helped us navigate our way from tour to tour.
This tour was a very vigorous hike to the top of the mountain. It probably took an hour to get to the caves. Once in the caves it is dark and wet and 700 steps to reach the ice formations. It's cold in the caves but you are sweating from all the steps. The ice formations are nothing spectacular. It dark and only when the guide lights them up can you see them. You walk around with little lanterns with a real fire flame. I can't believe someone hasn't caught their clothing on fire. After you walk around in the dark looking at ice formations then there is the 700 steps down. All I could think was get me out of here. Then you have the hike back down the mountain. You need to be physically fit for this tour but even so I thought the hike wasn't worth it except for the views from top of the mountain.
