I would not take this cruise again, I would try to find something different. I could not see out my windows
because all I could see was the relection from the windows on the other side of the ship.
But I love learning, if you want to learn, forget this excursion. It was sooooo noisy with all the people
talking I could here nothing of what the announcer was saying. I think he was saying a lot of historical interesting stuff. This was the first viator tour we were extremely disappointed in. Basicially we had a ride
in vehicle where I could see very little and here almost nothing. I think headset would have been a good
idea for those of us who want to hear what the announcer is saying. And charge for them. Those who
don't want to learn to just keep on visiting. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.
When I think of the best tour I had while in Australia and New Zealand for 3 weeks, this would be it. Cliff is the
man that effected these results. He is very intelligent and knowledgable and also objective at the same time.
We saw everything as they say below. I would like to hire Cliff to take us on a month tour of Australia. He
was very easy to get along with. THAT GUY!!!!!!!!!!! My highlight was, well everything, but I loved spotting
the roos at night and chasing the wombats down their holes night. Nooooooooooooooo they will not hurt you. I was the only woman who got out of the 4 wheel at night to chase down everything. You must get out
to experience them! They come out at night. The roos are on the other side of a fence so if you think they
will attack you, they can't. He stopped at a little town, for a bit of shopping at some great shops, and we
had dinner at a wonderful pub.. We truely had an "Australian Experience" thanks to Cliff.
Really good tour. We saw so much, everything was beautiful, I was very glad we signed up. Our bus driver was a really nice guy.
It gets you to other islands, but that's about it. The Glass blowing was interesting. There was not much
time to do any shopping. The little that the guide on the ship said, we could not understand, because the announcements were so loud, yet fuzzy and unclear. If you want to go to the other islands, I guess, the price is excellent. I guess I was looking for something more educational about the islands and the islands we went past. There is a very good article in a recent National Geographic I am reading where this man takes a boat, and explores them by himself.
I thought the tour was first rate. Tuscany was beautiful. Sandra was our guide and she was wonderful. Donatella was our guide in Sienna and she also was first rate. (Sandra: that restaurant you referred us to in Florence to eat after the tour was not that great) The lunch in Tuscany was not that great, but we loved the cows! We were brought up on the farm, so it felt like we were home.
We loved Sienna, I think it was my most favorite city on our trip!
I disagree with other reviewers that said Pisa was not worth going to, we loved it.
I would ABSOLUTELY do this tour if I was again in Florence and ask for Sandra!!!!!
Our guide was DAVID. He was outstanding. Not only did he have the knowledge, but he had the same passion for the Vatican and art that I have. He had a wonderful personality, affable, exciting and enlightening. If you go on one of these tours, ask that David be your guide!!!
