Cinque Terre Small Group Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

First off, it was raining and cold the day we took our trip so my review may be somewhat biased. I felt the entire day was incredibly rushed and chaotic due to the fact that all 5 areas were supposed to be visited. We spent I guess on average of 45 minutes in each town which basically gave you time to walk around, take a few photos, find a bathroom and rush back to the van. We took a train ride from one town to another and back. Despite our tour guide being quite friendly, he didnt take the train ride with us! I found that kind of odd and disturbing. I honestly felt that if we didnt take this tour, and had gone to say two towns on our own, spending a couple of hours in each place, we would have had a much more relaxing and enjoyable experience. Having said all of this, the views were very nice despite the weather, but I would not recommend this tour.

Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

My Review

This day was hands down was the best day of our of two week stay in Florence. We boarded a luxury bus at the Novella train station and had the incredible good fortune of having Stephano as our guide. This young gentleman was amazingly charasmatic, knowledgeable and super attentive to everyones needs the entire trip. The approximately 1.5 hour bus ride was very comfortable with reclining bucket seats and the views of the wine country along the way were spectacular. We were treated to the sights and sounds of the picturesque town of Sienna, complete with another magnificient guide. We were fortunate to be there when they had a chocalate fair in the main piazza going on. We then were treated to an incredible tuscan lunch with pasta, different cheeses, prosciutto, etc., along with three types of delicious wines. If you only have time for one tour while staying in Florence, be sure to take this one and to make sure Stephano from Walkabout tours is your guide.

Florence Cooking Class: Learn How to Make Gelato and Pizza

Florence, Italy

My Review

What a fantasic way to spend 3 hours in the evening. After taking a 10 minute walk to a nearby facility, chef Andrea took took over the reins and showed about 14 of us how to make delicious pizza and gelato. All of the ingredients were provided to make our dough from scratch and garnish our creations any way we wanted. Chianti wine was served and everyone had a great time creating either pizza or calzones. The cheese and sauce was amazing and all of the toppings were delicious. We made chocalate gelato from scratch and it was amazingly smooth.. I highly recommend this tour.
