Ancient Rome and Colosseum Tour: Underground Chambers, Arena and Upper Tier

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was an outstanding tour. We had a first class guide who was very knowledgeable. The tour takes you into areas that are not accessible to the general public. It also takes you outside the Coliseum to the Roman Forum. High recommended.

My Review

This is the only way to see the Vatican- they get around 30,000 people per day in summer. Our guide
Salvatore was absolutely outstanding! Salvatore- managed to weave us through the crowds. I have only ever seen so many people leaving a football game! Salvatore was able to provide us with expert commentary on all we saw. Highly recommended but may be problem if you don't like crowds!

Tuscany in One Day Sightseeing Tour

Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This is an outstanding tour! Our guide Elisa was a joy- full of knowledge and the most helpful guide we have ever come across! We went first to Siena which was outstanding, followed by going to a winery in the Chianti- the wine, food and views from the winery were outstanding. We then headed to San Gimignano which is a beautiful Tuscan village. We then headed to PIsa to see the famous leaning tower. The tour took 12 hours but is highly recommended if you have limited time in Florence and want to get a good taste of Tuscany.

Florence City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Florence, Italy

My Rating

My Review

This is a fine tour which takes you to the key places in Florence. Our only issue was that while there were three routes advertised we only ever saw a bus for one route. However it is a good way to get an overview of Florence.

Salzburg Super Saver: Bavarian Mountains including Eagle's Nest and Salt Mines

Salzburg, Austria

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The Eagles Nest part of the trip was good. The trip through the countryside and up to Eagles Nest was very beautiful. We had lunch at Berchtesgaden which was fine and we then go dropped off for our tour of the Salt Mines which also was fine. The problem started at the end of this tour when the bus failed to pick us up. We waited half an hour after the scheduled time and we then saw a minibus pull up from the company and we asked what was going on. They did not know but then eventually took us on to King Lake, but then took us back to Berchtesgaden because they were juggling other passengers. In other words they were very disorganised. We did not want to go back to Berchtesgaden as we had just been there for lunch but it appeared they had logistics problems. We were not happy with this poor organisation and neither were other customers. We would recommend only the half day tours from this company as they seem too disorganised to put together effectively the one day tour that was advertised. This is surprising as they have been running for over 40 years.

Danube Valley Day Trip from Vienna

Vienna, Austria

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This trip was can be done as two half day tours- one which takes you to Eagles Nest and the other one that takes you to the Salt Mines. The tour starts off with the trip to Eagles Nest which provides great views. You then head to Berchtesgarden for lunch. The tour bus then drops you off at the Salt Mines and you were then supposed to be picked up from there at around 2.50 pm....well that did not happen...this section turned into a great deal of disorganisation by the tour operator. Eventually a mini bus took us to King Lake which was beautiful but we had limited time there as the tour company had left other people at the Salt Mine so we then got taken back to Berchtesgarden for the tour operators convenience even though we had been there for lunch. Not happy at all with this as this was not we had paid for and we did not want to go back to the same place...others on our tour were equally annoyed.

Schonbrunn Palace Evening Concert

Vienna, Austria

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

The concert and music were first rate. The concerts take place either in the Orangery or the Palace and on the occasion we went it was in the Orangery. The only issue is that it was very hot in there and they either cannot or did not open any windows to let in some fresh air. If you like classical music this is a must do in Vienna

Monaco and Eze Small Group Day Trip from Nice

Nice, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was an outstanding tour. Our guide had great knowledge and they take you in a small mini van of a maximum of 8 people so it is a very personalised tour. The views were stunning! Eze is a small village on the side of a mountain and was absolutely fantastic! In Monaco you have 3 hours by yourself to eat lunch and to see changing of the guards at the Palace of Monaco, as well as the beautiful gardens and Saint Nicholas church where Grace Kelly was married and is now buried. We then went onto Monte Carlo so we can go into the casino and look around at the other attractions. This trip is highly recommended

Skip the Line: Versailles Full-Day Tour

Versailles, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

If you want to go to the Palace of Versailles this is the best way to do it! The lines to get into the Palace have to be seen to be believed! I have no idea how long it would take to get in if you just turned up- it looked like many hours. On this tour you could simply hop off train walk across the road to the tour operators office and they walk you down to the Palace where the very knowledgeable guide firstly takes you around the extensive gardens to show you how to get around them and explains the history before she takes you inside the Palace and again provided an excellent historical run down of the palace. After about four hours the guide then leaves you to do your own exploring in the afternoon, which was fine for us as there were so much to explore we were happy to do that by ourselves. Highly recommend.

Skip the Line: Louvre Museum Walking Tour including Venus de Milo and Mona Lisa

Paris, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This was an excellent way to see the Louvre. The lines are very long so we certainly appreciated meeting our very informative guide outside who then took us through a tour guides entrance which meant we skipped all of the crowds and we were guided expertly through the Louvre to the key exhibits. Our guide indicated that if you spent something like 10 seconds in front of each exhibit it would take you three months to go through the Louvre so to have somebody with such knowledge was fantastic. Our guide was a lecturer in art so her knowledge was first rate. We would highly recommend this tour.

Giverny and Monet

Paris, France

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

This tour simply was a bus trip to take you to Giverny. There was no showing you around Monet's Garden. I would recommend using the train via the Vernon Station and buying your own admission ticket. The Vernon station is situated on the main line Paris / Rouen / Le Havre. It starts from the Saint-Lazare Paris station (which has not changed much since Monet painted it). The fastest trains complete the journey in less than 45 min.

Dubai Super Saver: City Sightseeing Tour and Desert Safari

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The 4x4 experience was great! We had a great experience including the 4x4 experience in the sands followed by camel ride in desert and great dinner! Highly recommended! The City Sightseeing was not all that good. We spent an hour and half picking up people with no explanation as to what we were doing! Once the tour eventually started it was quite good but not sure it was worth the hour and an half wait before it started!
