Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Negril, Jamaica
This is an fantastic tour for anyone who wants to see a bit of 'real' Jamaica during their stay. Obviously the river falls and the Bob Marley museum is set up for tourists, but the most amazing thing is the drive through the parishes and the hills from the river falls to Nine Mile. The scenery is amazing!
The Falls are beautiful and great fun to climb - don't buy water shoes before you go as they are expensive and you'll never use them again. You can just hire them at the falls for about $7 a pair. Be careful when you come out the falls as the guides are extremely pushy for tips - you won't have cash on you because you get soaked on the trip - they offer to follow you back to your bus, which is a little intimidating. Also be careful on the way through the shops back to the car park - they will try and sell you anything before you have a chance to say no and then follow you to the bus for money. We got sucked in to the tune of $20! However, the falls are brilliant and not to be missed!
Nine Mile is amazing and an absolute MUST for all reggae fans. The guides at the museum are fab, really informative and lots of fun!
The best thing about the whole trip was our guide/driver - Sidney! He's a lot of fun, again really informative and great company for the drive. Our only regret was that in being sucked in to one of the shops at the falls we weren't able to tip Sidney more than we - trust us, you'll want to give him a good tip - he's a legend!
