We greatly enjoyed this experience, although it was not really romantic. We shared the Gondola with another couple and they beat us to the rear seat where you sit side by side. We sat on stools across from each other. The musician and singer were in our boat and did a wonderful job. The Gondola crews were characters. They keep us amused with their antics, but were not obtrusive to the overall experience. One pleasant surprise were all the people on the bridges that came to share our experience. Additionally, I would like to commend the Gondola operator. We accidentally booked the event on the same day as the trip to the Dolomite Mountains. They told us to come on the day before for the Gondola ride so we wouldn't miss it. What a great relief!
The trip itself was good. We wished we could have seen more, as most of the time was spent in the van, but due to the distances that was not possible. Carlo, our guide/drive did an excellent job telling us about the mountains and the towns we traveled through. He was also helpful, courteous, and funny. It would have been nice to have a sheet with the names of places on it. Since we don't speak Italian it was sometimes hard to understand the names of places. Carlo did take the time to write the names for us that we asked about, but I'm sure we forgot some. He did give us a booklet at the end of the tour which gave more information.
