This was an enjoyable day with a very informative guide. She kept the interest of everyone, stopped for bathroom break, and in general did a great job with a large group. Her background was helpful and knew so many details.
We toured on a Wednesday, and that is the day the pope has a public mass, and we could not get into the basilica. We did save out tickets and go back after 1pm.
This was the best, we arrived at the train station 11 am, and the tour bus pulled in about 11:10, so we hopped on. We toured and listened, it was a beautiful day to be on the top deck. We got off to see the "romeo and guilette" house, then walked to the main square for lunch. It was very enjoyable. For us it was a stop over from Venice to Milan. We were back at the train station by 2pm.
The guide was very informative, but it was a very warm busy day in Venice. A stop in the shade with a cold drink would have been useful. The water taxi ride did show us a lot more than we could have seen on foot.
