The city of Kilkenny was quaint and charming. We could have spent the entire day shopping and touring in that city. The castle tour is a separate charge but if you are a student the discount rate is very good. The interior of the castle has been refurburshed and is amazing. The bus trip to Glendalough felt very long, we made a stop at Wicklow Gap which is undoubtly the coldest location in Ireland. Snow all around us and the wind whipping in our hair. The views were spectacular. Glendalough would have been more enjoyable if it hadn't been so cold. My family took a walk to the lower lake while I kept warm in the gift shop. St. Kevin's tower and the monestary ruins were worth seeing. If you go into the visiter center at Glendalough there is a separate charge...we did not tour the center. Overall this was a good experience and was a nice activity to end our vacation with on a positive note.
