The tour guide and driver were good. The guide spoke excellent English. I am glad that I had this opportunity to go to the Great Wall and visit the Ming Dynasty Tombs. However, this was a high pressure sales tactic wrapped around a short tour. The tour also went to a Jade store where the pressure was great to purchase something, and then to a tea store where the pressure to purchase was unacceptable. Clearly there was a kickback to the tour guide, perhaps the driver also. Viator should be ashamed. I have taken some really informative and fun tours with VIator and never experienced anything like this in the past.
New York City, New York
I had only the few hours to see NYC for the first time in about 30 years. This was the perfect way to do it. The tour guide was excellent, the bus driver was skilled and friendly, the stops and walks were ideal, and the boat ride to the Statue of Liberty was a real bonus. Bravo!
Hong Kong, Hong Kong
The tour was good overall. The locations are really great, and they fit well together -- fishing village, beach, and Giant Buddha. Lunch was fantastic. The tour guide was a disappointment. She made it very clear she is experienced, and we were 'lucky' to have her services, but I found myself embarrassed for her. The swastika anecdote just went on too long, and bordered on offensive. She does seem to be a bit obsessed by it. I would have preferred a short explanation, and perhaps move on to the other pieces of symbolism in the Buddhist tradition.
