Luxury Paris Day Trip with Champagne Lunch on the Eiffel Tower

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

Even though it was a bit extravagant, I thought this tour was going to be the highlight of my trip to Europe. It only slightly disappointed. There were two things wrong with this trip. 1. The bus tour is in an enclosed tour bus: great for the 90 degree weather we had, bad for pictures. You get to see things, but can't take great pictures through the windows. 2. The champagne lunch at the Eiffel Tower is pre-cooked and comes in a pyrex glass bowl 3 minutes after you order it. Considering the lunch actually costs 65Euro (I read the sign on the way in), that seems like a lot of money for food that is being heated up for you.

Other than that, the tour guide was great, the river cruise was a wonderful way to learn about the city - and if you don't go into the Louvre, there is plenty of shopping to be done just one block north of the square. Bring gum - your ears may pop as the train goes through tunnels.

Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands Small Group Day Trip from Glasgow

Glasgow, United Kingdom

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Loved this trip. Not only are the highlands beautiful, but you get to see so much of the country in such a short amount of time (not to mention Loch Lomond AND Loch Ness). Definitely take the optional lake cruise... there is nothing to do back at the shore except buy Nessie souvenirs.

Blarney Castle and Cork Day Trip from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This is a great way to see a lot of the southeast of Ireland in a short period of time. Just make sure when you go see Blarney Castle you leave time to shop at Blarney Woolen Mills - 3 floors of Irish goodies! Some of the stuff there is your typical tourist junk, but a lot of what they are selling is Irish-made and definitely the type of souvenir I like to take home. We had like an hour and a half there, plenty of time to get in line and climb the stairs to kiss the Blarney stone and get a good 45 minutes of shopping done. Blarney Woolen Mills also offers free shipping if you spend over 250 Euro - and as someone who tried to ship things home from Scotland, that is a GREAT deal.

Limerick, Cliffs of Moher, Burren and Galway Bay Rail Tour from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The last time I was in Ireland, I visited all of these spots, so I was skeptical of visiting again. However, because of the guide and all of the great things he had to say and the stories of the history of Ireland he told, I thought this to be a much more worthwhile experience (last time we did it on our own). The cliffs are not to be missed on a trip to Ireland, and this was a great way to experience it.

Dublin City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This is my second trip to Dublin and my second time on the Dublin City Hop-on Hop-off (traveling with two different people). I really appreciate the guide's stories (when there is a live person and not a recording) and it is much better than the one in London. I like to ride a full loop before hopping off so that I can get a good idea of the layout of the city - this one is 45 minutes long, London's loop is 2.5hrs.
