It is a very interesting old city but unfortunately it was a wet and very cold and windy day when we went so not so enjoyable. Also we were disappointed that the bus does not drive you around the area at all to see the rest of the main city. We felt that an hour doing that and less time to yourself, especially in bad weather would be more appreciated. it certainly would have been for us.
We enjoyed our tour to Brussels and Antwerp as it was very informative on the history of the areas as well as the trip to those places. They are lovely old cities and we especially like the architecture of the old buildings which have much more character than the more modern buildings of today.
We were happy with the convenience of the hop on and Off Bus in Athens as it started from the Port only 5 minutes walk from the ship and stopped at the Acropolis. When we were finished there we were able to get on the other colour route bus and do the city sights. So we found it ideal for the time in Port.
We really enjoyed our tour of Kusadasi and the ruins at Ephuses. Our guide was very informative with a good knowledge of the area and was very helpful. We would have liked to have done the terraced houses but didn't realize until later that they were not included in our tour, or we would have paid the extra to do it as our Son has done them and said they were one of the best parts of the tour. We were impressed with the carpet weaving, but did not appreciate the factory owner putting pressure on me to buy a carpet which I did not want to do. I was admiring the skills and beauty of the carpets and he really was pressuring me and I had to tell him that is not what I went there for. But the Turkish meal was good and plentiful for our group. So all in all it was a good tour and cheaper than the Ship tour for basically the same thing.
