London, United Kingdom
Oxford, the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon in one day make the trip a wee bit thin because each place is so full of charm and things to do and see. All the same, I highly recommend this trip for anyone who is visiting England for less than a month, just because it is possible to get so much into a day. Each area is seductive in its own way. History and natural beauty abound. The tour guide, David, was full of entertaining and interesting tidbits of history and was most accommodating. He went out of his way, quite literally, to see that all of us had a pleasant experience and ended the day smiling.

This tour is a must-do because of the antiquity of Stonehenge and the fact that it is a World Heritage Site. Bath is extraordinarily charming and unique in its history as well. Because the two sites require a bit of time to get to from London and from each other, the excursion seems a bit rushed. Even so it is well worth taking this trip. Nowhere else on Earth will one see Stonehenge, although the structured tour, while necessary, detracts from the magic of seeing it. (The structure is imposed by the site management, not Viator.) The charm of Bath is unmatched anywhere: enticing shops offering everything from souvenirs to edibles, winding, narrow, cobbled streets leading to the Jane Austen house, the Roman baths themselves, all await your curiosity.
For a one-day tour, this Ayutthaya Temples and River Cruise covers a lot of territory and offers a great deal of knowledge. For a person with limited time in Thailand, or for an excellent overview of the history, this trip is perfect. I have taken the tour twice with different guests from the U.S. and got rave reviews each time. The only tiny drawback was a local woman at the toilet in Ayutthaya: she was quite rude and even insulting when she mistakenly thought one of my guests failed to pay the 5 b she was collecting. She was the only sour note in the day, but a memorable one. Otherwise, a very enjoyable day. The guides on both trips were witty, courteous, knowledgable and engaging.
