Salvador Dali Museum, Figueres and Cadaques Small Group Day Trip from Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Very nice tour to be a part of, ESPECIALLY if you want to go to Cadaques AND Port Lligat (where Dali's house is) in a same-day return trip from Barcelona without renting a car, which would be next to impossible via public transportation...Our Guide was fabulous (Feliciano, from Explore Catalunya, was passionate and really knew his material) and the Dali sights were great for us to see...The weather wasn't the finest on this day, but we still had a very nice time...Assuming the weather is decent or better, probably a four star trip for casual art observers, five for art and history lovers...Enjoy!!!

Barcelona Gothic Quarter Morning Walking Tour

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Great tour and value...We had Carlos from the "City" agency as our Guide, and he was excellent...Saw lots of sights and learned about some history that we would have never come across on our own...Would have been extra nice if the group was a little smaller, but that was pretty minor, mostly because they give earpiece amplifiers that worked very nicely...Tour lasted about 2 hours, which was just right.

Gaudí’s La Pedrera at Night: A Behind-Closed-Doors Tour in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

The property itself had some nice features, but our tour was WAY overcrowded (with about 35 people participating, 20 of which were high school kids) so we could barely hear and oftentimes even see the tour guide as she led us through some pretty confined spaces and presented...Also, the "night" option is DOUBLE the cost (of an all ready pricey tour) and really only included some cheesy lighting and a "plot" that added nothing positive to the experience...The highlight for us was the rooftop, which did have some very nice views and architecture, but, overall, we thought the tour was over-priced and over-hyped, with most of the previously posted positive reviews on here not resonating...

Montserrat Half-Day Small-Group Tour with Optional Cable Car Ride and Skip-the-Line Ticket to La Sagrada Familia

Barcelona, Spain

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

Though Montserrat and Sagrada Familia were EPIC and our Guide was EXCELLENT (Lydia) the/this "tour" option was the wrong one for us...Had we done it on our own, we would we have been on a schedule that allowed us enough time to actually do the "extra" things that we really wanted to (besides the Monastery) while at Montserrat, like see/hear the Choir and walk to the "secondary" cathedral or down to the caves, even riding the funicular would have been tight, so we missed that too...Example: The Choir was performing at 1pm (something we would have GLADLY made time for) but the bus back to Barcelona left at 12:30, LAME!!! A few more hours at Montserrat really were necessary for us, something we didn't realize until arrival...Also, not a lot of "tour" benefit to be had at Sagrada Familia in this case, as, after an overview from the outside, there was no "group" or "guide" function to be had, we just received tickets and audio-guides and were on our own, something that could EASILY be booked separately, without need to tie it into Montserrat, creating unnecessary scheduling and time constraints..."Skip-the-Line" tickets for Sagrada can also be bought on-line and, as we now understand, locally at some participating bank ATM's, so being a part of a tour-group isn't actually necessary to gain that positive, which IS pretty big...The "plusses" of this tour was the commentary and interaction with the Guide (5-stars for her) while in transit and in the Monastery and outside of Sagrada Familia and also by way of saving maybe an hour of total transit time vs. taking the train and cable car to and from Barcelona...The sights were great, just think the itinerary was either unnecessary or prohibitive.
