Absolutely fantastic !!! We used Viator tours for Venice, Florence and Rome and were more than satisfied. We started on time and our Vatican tour guide, Victoria, was very knowledgeable regarding the history and artwork in the Vatican and displayed a real sense of love and reverence in all of the details during the tour as well as her beautiful city of Rome. High marks for this one !!!
We took the Tuesday morning tour of the Accademia and loved it !!! A very knowledgeable tour guide detailed all of the important sections of the Accademia and we learned alot. We met up with a different tour guide for the Uffizi tour and she too was very knowledgeable. The one problem we had with the morning tour was that the tour representative was not clearly marked ( not holding anything up such as an umbrella, etc. ) . We were there 40 minutes prior to the start of the morning tour and walked all over the described area meeting place and never found her.We looked for the yellow sign that was to be held up but no luck. The problem was compounded by the thousands of people waiting in the streets and on the sidewalks ( due to the Accademia being closed on Monday) We finally went to the local tour center and a wonderful gentleman walked with us . Fortunately, he knew who he was looking for and we were then able to join the tour. For the afternoon Uffizi Tour we had no problem. It all worked out fine but a little nerve racking at the start.
This was the best tour of the 10 days in Italy !!!! The tour guide was wonderful !!! The information provided was amazing and we walked away wishing we had booked it twice. The lunch ( with homemade pasta, wonderful bread, cheeses , 4 kindgs of wine and dessert) was great and we got an opportunity to meet lots of other interesting people while lunching at the farm. Of course, Siena and San Giangamo (sp?) was great and we were enthralled with the story and video of the horse racing !!! We hesitated to take an entire day away from our trip but now know that without this tour, we would have missed a beautiful and special place in Italy.
This was the first tour of 3 that we scheduled and it started our trip off perfectly! Although Venice ( and St. Mark's Square) was under water the day we arrived, the next day we started the one hour tour with just some drizzle. It certainly did not stop the tour guide ( I don't remember her name but she had red hair) was knowledgeable and made the area come to life for us. Going in to the Basilica was a special treat and the guide explained everything very well. She did such a great job that we opted to continue on with her and signed up for the Doges Palace tour that followed. There was still plenty of time left over to wander around on our own. I would definitely recommend this tour !!!
