It is a very good tour if you are short of time and do not want to miss one of the most important renaissance cities. Tour bus starts from Rome in morning (3 hr bus ride to Florence) and takes you to Florence - there is a break for coffee and breakfast in between. While on bus, guide provides info of the surrounding regions you are passing through along with some related history. You get to see some beautiful medieval Italian hill towns on your way to Florence.
Once in Florence, a local guide takes over. You are provided with radio and headphones so that you do not have to worry about standing close to guide to hear what he/she is talking. Local guide walks you through medieval town, provides detail information on each building/area along with related history. A good complimentary lunch is part of the tour which is an icing on the cake. You also get 1-2 hours of leisure time which you can utilize for shopping or for a walk around town. This tour also includes skip-the -line ticket to Academy that holds Michaelangelo's David.
Overall I recommend this tour to everyone.
Well for us the best part of this tour was our guide (his name is Kid). He is the most entertaining guide we have ever come across. He ensured that everyone is kept entertained throughout the journey. I am sure all the people in the group really enjoyed with him around.
Now coming to the trip. Though we booked this tour but got it upgraded to include Jungfrau at the last moment (it's possible to do) since weather was good. We left from Zurich at around 9 am and reached interlaken at close to 11 am. In between our guide provided multiple photo opportunities of beautiful Bernese Oberland. Once in Interlaken, we took 45 min break then left for Jungfrau. Cog Wheel train ride to the top of Europe was an experience. Ample photo opportunities on your way to the top. Jungfrau was different world altogether - it's like ocean of snow. We spent 3-4 hours at the top before taking a train back to Grindelwald. From Grindelwald we took a bus back to Zurich.
A few things to note
a) If you have included Jungfrau in this tour then probably you are not going to have enough time to visit Grindelwald or Interlaken
2) It's pretty cold at the top so do not forget to wear warm clothes and good shoes/boots
3) If you really want to enjoy the beauty of the region, then plan to stay overnight at some nearby village/town
Though Jungfrau is beautiful and a must see but I feel this tour is overpriced. I recommend this to people who want a day's trip to Jungfrau.
There is nothing much to talk about Hop-On-Hop-Off tours since it is pretty much a regular feature in all major tourist cities in the world. Paris one is very convenient if you want to cover length and breadth of the city to get overall flavor. You do not have to worry about bus numbers, subway connections etc to commute within the city. There are hop-on-hop-off stops at almost all major places which makes your commute very easy. Also there is audio commentary available that talks about Paris's history and story behind all major attractions.
