Want fun and sun and everything between? Come to California!!

California

My Recommendation Tip

I always recommend California for anyone and everyone being you can get various landscapes from the deserts of the east to the beaches in the west and don't forget the forest and mountains in between. Want the dazzles of Hollywood or the serenity of the deserts and national parks, you can have it all in California.
Plan well and schedule it closely and all can be done within a budget for the whole family.

Danube River Lunch Cruise

Budapest, Hungary

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Trip was well planned and well done. Please arrive early and if the weather is great, go for the rear deck seats right away. By far the best seats in the house. I arrived and went straight to the back. Others were scoffing me because there was the assumption of rain was following. Alas, the clouds went away and it came out to be very very beautiful and now out of the blue, everyone including their grandmother wanted a piece of the deck chairs in the back. The viewing was perfect around and the boat gave us drinks being served. The drinks were fresh champagne which was very refreshing. All in all, a very solid relaxing way to see Budapest and all the landmarks near the river.

Budapest Bike Tour

Budapest, Hungary

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Quite possibly one of the best bike tours I have been in a long time. It wasn't for the scenery but that was helping immensely, it was mostly the tour guide biker I had, Laszlo, who had a very funny, interesting and entertaining stories to tell about the history of Budapest and the people that lived in it. We started out on our way to Heroes Square and then to the city park and then to the Szechenyi Baths. Along the way, Laci was telling me various tales and tid-bits about the inhabitants of the city. My personal favorite was while we were at Heroes Square, he told us of the tale and the origins of the Hungarian people with its funny tid-bits. We passed by the City Zoo and also Terror Haza, which he shared his perspective of it during the communist period. Next we went for a light snake and rest from the biking with some spectacular Hungarian pastries. My personal favorite was the poppy seed strudel, which was quite delicious. During the meal, Laci went on about his theories about the origins of the Hungarian people and he shared with us a folks tale music with his flute!! So for the next ten minutes, he was playing a delicate song that has its origins from the first Hungarians that arrived to Europe from the east. It was a sad song but it trully humbled us. Being it was extremely hot outside, the cool wine cellar downstairs helped with the room temperature and making us quite comfortable. We next ventured to the Jewish Synagogue and also the Bazilika Church where he shared with us his stories again of the Hungarian people. The stories weren't controversial nor slanderous but just very interesting when one puts the various hypothesis together. There was comical stories about various people that lived in Budapest and their experiences and that was quite a laugh. The bike ride to the castle on the Buda side was fascinating and it was at a leisurely pace. All in all, I was just wanting to kill some time but this was quite possibly the greatest way to see BUDAPEST!

Travel Recommendation

Perfect entry into Central and Eastern Europe, start it in Budapest!!!

Budapest

My Recommendation Tip

I recommend to anyone and everyone who ask about visiting Europe. I first warn people that you cannot conquer Europe so break down your ideas and what you want to see. If you are limited in time, the greatest recommendation is to use the river cruises from Amsterdam with trips all the way to the Black Sea. For Budapest, it is an easy to conquer city with so many trips and activities to do. I use Yellow Zebra Budapest mainly because when I first arrived to Hungary, I was a bit lost and perplexed. I enjoyed being at their store and place and they welcomed me not as a stranger but as a long lost friend. I used their main center as a jumping off point for various other localities and places to visit.

Prague by Night: Small-Group Walking Tour and Vltava River Cruise

Prague, Czech Republic

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Very well organized and very well done. I was lucky to be in a group that was fun-loving including the guide. We had a great rapture and everyone was enjoying the trip. The river cruise was spectacular and the drink was a topping on the cake. The group we had was just alot of interesting folks from all walks of life and I had a great time. The pace of the walking tour was at a comfortable pace and we stopped at various historical places along the way. The English being spoken by our guide was understandable with hardly a trace of accent. I actually felt the guide was from the midwest but was rather shocked and surprised he was Czech. I implore anyone and everyone if they are in the city for just a day or so to check this tour compared to others. I was rather reluctant to do it but I was glad that I did. I trully felt I saw the best of Prague.

Prague City Segway Tour

Prague, Czech Republic

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Spectacular and well organized and possible one of the greatest way to see a city. I first inquired on the viator website and then signed up. I was doing it on a spur that I always wanted to try a segway. Signing up for it out of the whole trip was possibly the most hardest in everything I experienced with it. The tour guide got me on the basics of operating the Segway. We did it in an closed street with no cars and that was really cool. He was very patient and after just ten to fifteen minutes, we were on our way. We wandered the streets of Prague from one side to another. What made it really really nice is that he avoided some crowded situations and also during crowds, he was kind and considerate. Most of my time during the trip was fascinating because people were curious about the Segway especially up in the Castle area. I was having my picture taken all the time and I felt like a minor celebrity. My tour guide answered basic questions and really wanted not to waste my time so I can see the rest of Prague but I was having so much fun talking to the young and old tourist and even locals who wanted to try the Segway also. At the end of the tour, I was pretty sad but we covered and conquered all of Prague in such a short time.

Small-Group Prague Walking Tour: Malá Strana, Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral

My Review

Very casual and very organized! The guide took us and made our route that was less touristy and I actually felt a bit blended in. He also took time for us to take pictures and have our own pictures taken which was really considerate. My personal favorite was his sneaky way of finding these out of the way photo shots while we were wandering around the area. There was a wink and a slight of hand and body gesture and RIGHT AWAY I saw the good photo scenarios come right out!

Small-Group Food and Beer Tour in Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

SPECTACULAR tour, very well organized and nicely done. I can honestly say that I felt that I competently conquered the food and beers of Prague. The guide was well knowledge individual and he knows his food and beer like there is no tomorrow. I wasn't a dark beer or lager or heavy beer fan but he found the perfect beer for me and it was very light and delicious. The table food was delicious at every section we went too was catered to us. We didn't have to wait at all as we waltzed right in and took a table like we were long long guest or celebrities. It was really fascinating and exciting at the same time. The guide also made sure we got home properly also which was really considerate of him to do that. Be prepared to experience alot of different beer and table foods, have an open mind and be ready to have fun. The group I was in was very interesting bunch and I think I made some friends for life.
