Our guide, Sylvie, was tremendous - accommodating, friendly and obviously very passionate about her home region. The trip to San Remo was very fast and quite spectacular with great views of the Alps and the coast. Tip: In San Remo avoid the central markets and head into the side streets around the markets if you want to experience the real Italy (there are plenty of shops to keep any shoppers happy!). The drive back along the coast through Ventimigila and Menton is very beautiful and the highlight of the day for us was the drive up the Grand Corniche and the truly amazing views of Monaco and the coast from the top. There are also some great views of the hilltop village of Eze on the way back into Nice. All in all a great day trip and highly recommended.
Our guide Joseph was fantastic - very knowledgeable, very friendly and very passionate about the area. The views from the villages of St Paul de Vence and in particular from the mountaintop village of Gourdon are unforgettable and worth the price of the tour by themselves. Great places for photographers. The only downside for us was the stop in Cannes on the way back - there is nothing of interest there except perhaps the building where the film festival is held but that is only noteworthy because it is definitely the ugliest building in the south of France! That aside this was a great day trip made even more enjoyable by an excellent guide and I would highly recommend it.
