Beautiful day at the castles.Neuschwanstein even more beautiful than we imagined.View from Mary's bridge a must see and worth the hike.Linderhof stunningly beautiful with great tour inside the castle.I would have skipped Oberammergau but my wife enjoyed the shopping.I felt time would have been better spent at the castles but Oberammergau is a pretty town.Highly recommend this tour.
Good deal getting two trips for the discounted price. Our tour guide Yacqui on the Salzburg and lake district trip was terrific. While I enjoyed Salzburg I felt it was a little too touristy for my taste but great food at the marketplace.I loved the lake district trip especially the beautiful town St. Wolfgang. While normally I would rather have my eyes poked out than to listen to schmaltzy Sound of Music soundtrack, the boat ride on Wolfgangsee replete with Julie Andrews leading us in song was really alot of fun even if I can't get that do,re,mi song out of my head. The boat ride on that beautiful lake in that beautiful setting was great.
The Rothenburg trip was extremely interesting and I enjoyed the side trip to the medieval castle at Harburg.Unfortuneatly the weather was terrible when we arrived at Rothenburg but we still made the best out of a bad day enjoying lunch and a coffe break in town.Try the snowballs at the cafes in Rothenburg. Our tour guide Uta was extremely informative and just a very nice person to chat with about German history and culture.I would recommend the Romantic Road trip and only wish we had picked a better weather day but that is not the fault of the tour company.Overall the two day trip was very good helped immensely by both our very informative and fun tour guides.
