San Francisco, California
Despite not having the smoothest of experiences, I feel these areas are places I think you should definitely see when in San Francisco (maybe consider doing them on your own agenda) but the timing of everything was exactly what I needed that day.
It didn't start out the greatest, I never did receive a confirmation about the time of my pick up. I was ready to go waiting in my room for a phone call before 8am ( I had called and left a message with my number earlier in the morning thinking no one had been into the office yet and anticipating that I would get a phone call with my pick up time). This never happened, I went down to the lobby at 8:20am (thinking I was early) and asked if there was anyway of knowing when I would be picked up. The concierge informed me the driver was there and had left already...I had NO idea! LUCKILY I managed to make it to the office (at my expense) to get on the bus I should have been on earlier in the day. The guide was very informative and talked the entire time about various interesting facts of the area (which is great if you're as curious as me, but not so great if you're wanting a peaceful ride). The Muir Woods was beautiful, but with this tour we only had 1 hour to spend. I was riding solo that day so was able to make it to the 4th bridge on the trail, but I believe the majority of people might have only reached the 3rd bridge. If you hurry, the whole trail can be done, which gives you the option of hiking on a trail higher up giving you different views of the woods on the return trip back to the bus.
I also loved Sausalito, and again, only about 1 hour to spend, which was enough time to walk around the cute little town, grab a quick bite to eat and stop in at the museum.
The driver gave us a good photo opp. of the bridge when he stopped the bus before going across the Golden Gate bridge.
Overall, I'm glad I did the trip, although there were many things that would have made it a much better experience. Thanks!
