Great Ocean Road Small-Group Eco-Tour from Melbourne

Melbourne, Australia

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This was a great tour!! I recommend this trip to ALL those traveling to Australia! The Great Ocean Road is breathtaking, and should be experienced to all those visiting the Melbourne area. Unfortunately, our tour was on a very rainy day. Occasional clearing, allowed for some dramatic photo opportunities. The only things I would suggest to alter the tour provided is: 1.) Delete the "visit to the rainforest." I really did not think this was necessarily an essential part of the whole tour... it was more like "walking a path through the woods." I would have preferred more stops on the Great Ocean Road. 2.) The Thai restaurant, "lunch stop" was terrible!! I did not like the food at all, and, unfortunately, there was really nothing else to do/see/shop at that stop. Our driver left to refuel, and I felt as if I were in the middle of nowhere, Australia in the rain. I would definitely suggest an alternate site to stop for a food-break/ refueling.

Sydney and Bondi Hop-on Hop-off Tour

Sydney, Australia

My Rating

My Review

As frequent travelers, my husband and I, enjoy this type of a "city tour" whenever visiting a new place. I have to say, there was not very much information shared on this "tour." And, it really did not provide great places for us to hop-off and hop-on again. I would suggest reading a travel book for Sydney-City-information versus taking this city'tour.

Sydney Taronga Zoo General Entry Ticket and Wild Australia Experience

Sydney, Australia

My Review

This was on of the highlights our our trip to Australia!! To be up close with koalas, wallabies, billbies, etc. The tour guide, however, did not provide a photograph of us individually with a zoo animal (i.e. Koala, which is what I expected!). And, that is how I understood the terms of the tour... At the end of the tour, the guide gave each of us a photograph of one of the zoo animals... This would have been completely worth the expense, if the photo were of us individually... After all, it is about the zoo experience, and the experience of being so close to animals we normally do not see often!! And, a photo of us close to one of the koalas or feeding a wallaby would have been so much more personal.

Sydney BridgeClimb

This is a must-do experience for anyone traveling to Sydney, who can perform the "climb." I am not extremely athletic, and it was not a difficult climb. -Unless, of course, you have a fear of heights. You cannot bring a camera with you, but I certainly understand the safety ramifications regarding that restriction. Perhaps, more photographs taken by the guide, then?? We had perfect weather: low 60's F. I cannot imagine climbing in the heat of Sydney summertime!! (Especially since you cannot take a water bottle with you!!) But, this is the #1 "thing to do" while in Sydney, as long as your health permits!! (We were "stuck" at the top for approximately 60", because several climbers in the group ahead of us, became "spooked" with the descent, and, it took close to one hour for their tour guides to help them descend the ladders!! But, for those skeptics: Only 4 ladders to climb up, and then down again at the end, the rest of the ascent/descent is walking on ramps which is fairly easy!!!)

Sydney Tower 360 Bar and Dining

Sydney, Australia

My Review

Food was OK, not great!! Ambiance was also "OK." I did not really think this was comparable to other restaurants we dined at while in Sydney. Also, our dinner, which was at 5:30, completely missed the sunset... therefore, really no view from the rotating windows... You cannot see but a teeny piece of the bridge. You cannot see the Opera House. Save your $$, and dine at another restaurant!!
