Our guide was very informative but perhaps a bit too much. The tour was a bit long on a very hot day. I think an unguided tour would have worked well for this venue as it would allow you to choose how long you spend in a particular area.
The walking tour was just ok. We could have easily strolled though the streets with a guide book and probably learned a bit more or traveled to areas that were more interesting. We enjoyed the "no line" entrance for San Marco Basicilla. The water tour was nice. It was a very hot day and everyone wanted to be outside the cabin of the boat so that made things very crowded.
We waited for 45 minutes for the water taxi to arrive. It was a fantastic trip out to Venice during the evening hours but then we were dropped off in San Marco Plaza with about 100,000 other people during Festivale. We were stuck in a mob of people trying to carry backpacks and it was an extremely terrifying experience. It would have been much better if they would have dropped us at a less crowed place. This was our only option at the time and it was expensive for the service.
