Small-Group Amsterdam Beer Tour

My Review

I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Shawn/Sean (not sure how he spells it), was very pub-knowledgeable and took us to some hidden gems. He was very laid back and easy going. If you are a beer-drinker, this tour is definitely worth the money.

Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour

My Review

This tour was very entertaining and our guide was knowledgeable. I enjoyed this tour a lot. Our guide broke down how the system worked and showed us the different sections to the red light district and gave us a good history lesson on the area in general. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My Review

I'm a big fan of tours and I try to take them often, but this one was a bit of a let down. Jason, our guide, was kind of blah. I know he's been a guide for a long time, but he wasn't very engaging. The tour itself was very rushed. You hardly had any time at all at the places that mattered. The time we spent at Windsor and at Stonehenge were fine because there really isn't much to see, but I really thought this whole tour was going to be fully guided with expert commentary. Instead, you're left largely on your own to walk about aimlessly at all the stops with the exception of the 20 minute walk in Lacock. I would have enjoyed more time at Lacock and at Bath. Bath has so much that the hour we had really didn't allow us to see much of anything. Lacock was barely a 20 minute stop. In and of itself, Lacock can easily fill an hour to two hours because of Fox Talbot's mansion and the Lacock Abbey as well as the historically interesting pubs and inns. I have visited Lacock on my own in the past so I know what's there to see. I think instead of having our lunch at the roadside pub on the way to Lacock, a traditional English lunch provided in a historical inn in Lacock would have enriched the trip 100% times over and would have saved the low rating from me. I was quite disappointed and felt mislead by the description of this tour. It's hardly guided and far too rushed.
