This tour was good value for money with only 8 of us on the small mini bus which included a pick-up and drop-off at each of our 4 hotels - whilst you could do this cheaper yourself, you have the inconvenience of the metro, train and taxi to get to Giverney and you also miss out on the knowledge of the guide on the drive. On the way we took the slightly slower route through a number of very pretty towns and our guide Frederick pointed out other Monet related facts. It was absolutely baking in Paris but Giverney was much cooler and the rain held off. We had 2 hours to explore the gardens, house and museum which was plenty of time (although we didn't bother with the museum, preferring an ice-cream and glass of wine). The gardens were beautiful and we saw the waterlillies which was the main reason for visiting in July - the gardens weren't too busy and there were plenty of photo opportunities. The house only took about 10 minutes as we weren't too interested in the Japanese prints that were displayed. Our guide Frederick was very knowledgeable and left us to our own devices whilst we explored the gardens and house.
